Our First Project Meeting

Velbert Map

The first project meeting will take place at Velbert, Germany. Teachers from Greece, Lithuania and Turkey will come. Our German colleagues prepared a full and interesting program: We'll have debates about the project and how we 'll organize our activities better. We 'll know the place, the people and the school there. And finally, we'll know each other better. There, in November 29th. More news will hear from us soon...

About our Project

The project “Staging me/ staging you(th)” allows students to deal with every day youth issues in the through writing and performing plays. In the first year they will deal with the topics family, friends and school , in the 2nd year with their fields of interests (e.g. media, sports, fashion) and their future (also as European citizens). The plays will primarily be written in English , in French or German, or maybe the mother tongues. There will be two drama workshops. At the end of the first each participating country performs one of the many plays written, however none of their own. In the second workshop one longer play will be performed together by a larger group (4-5 actors from each participating country). The students shoot a documentary film about the project, at the end some of the good plays will be published in a book. During the two years the plays can be read online on a shared website. The choice of the plays that are performed will be done by a students´ voting carried out in each country. The students will be encouraged to build up personal contact with students from abroad via a chatroom or e-mailing.
